Often, those of us who work in the not-for-profit industry think that asking our donors to give money is a necessary evil.
But that isn’t the case! Famed priest and author Henri Nouwen once described fundraising as a ministry, as in:
“To raise funds is to offer people the chance to invest what they have in the work of God.” (A Spirituality of Fundraising)
Recently, Jay Love, author of eTapestry and more recently, Bloomerang, ventured pretty close to this territory, explaining The Importance of Legacy Giving to the Donor Relationship.
With more than half of the U.S. population without a will, asking the question about legacy giving could be a life-saver for our donors.
