Pastors – last week I asked you to plan some sermons on generosity. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had some help to jumpstart the inspiration process?
Well, look no further. I’ve collected some resources for you.
Jan Charney and the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem have a full three-year lectionary series on stewardship reflections. Check it out!
The Diocese of Portsmouth (that’s England!) has a similar three-year lectionary resource: Stewardship for Sundays.
Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia has founded the Stewardship of Life Institute, with lectionary reflections for each Sunday.
Wendy McCormick, of the Center for Congregations, recommends this book: The Stewardship Companion: Lectionary Resources for Preaching, by David Mosser. Mosser draws from one scripture passage for each week of the three-year cycle to provide a brief reflection on how that passage could be used to preach and teach stewardship.
That should give you a pretty good start. Send me an email with other suggestions.
